When I’m not writing or teaching, I enjoy watching film, reading fiction, experimenting in the kitchen, and studying Arabic morphology.

I share life with an elementary school teacher. We spend much of our time chasing our toddler.

My family are north Indian Muslims, with ancestral ties to Central Asia. But I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.
