I’m a philosopher, and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Notre Dame. I just finished my Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, where I was advised by Elizabeth Anderson, Sarah Buss, Peter Railton, and Brian Weatherson.

I work in ethics, moral psychology, and metaethics, though my research also bears on social-political philosophy. I also think about the normative significance of explanation and contingency, leading to interests in epistemology and the philosophies of action and history. I dabble in the history of ethics (especially in Arabic thought).
