I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at the University of Michigan. This Fall, I will be a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Notre Dame.

I specialize in ethics, moral psychology, and metaethics. And I hold interests in social-political philosophy and history of ethics. I also think about “normative explanation”, about the nature of what we are up to when we explain why something is good or bad, fitting or unfitting, justified or groundless. This puts me in conversation with epistemology, metaphysics, and the philosophy of action and history.

My advisors are Peter Railton, Elizabeth Anderson, Sarah Buss, and Brian Weatherson. Webb Keane, an anthropologist of ethics, is my cognate member.
