I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at the University of Michigan. This Fall, I will be a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Notre Dame.

I work mainly in ethics, moral psychology, and metaethics, though I am interested in social-political philosophy and history of ethics too. I also think about “normative explanation”—what we are up to when we explain why a response is valuable, fitting, or right. This puts my research in conversation with epistemology, metaphysics, and the philosophy of action and history.

My advisors are Elizabeth Anderson, Sarah Buss, Peter Railton, and Brian Weatherson. Webb Keane, an anthropologist of ethics, is my cognate member.
